i’m anti harassment and pro responsible media consumption aka “don’t like, don’t read” like a normal person. also real world morals and social norms oftentimes don’t apply in these fictional worlds in stories (including fanfiction, fanart, etc.). saying “this is morally wrong, you’re a fucked up person” and proceeding to harass another person for creating or consuming fiction just makes no sense and only makes you look goofy, hypocritical, and incapable of critical thinking.i don’t really care what you call proshipping, comshipping, or darkshipping. internet discourses have complicated and confused the definitions and the differences through the years. but antishipping is borderline authoritarian, puritanical, endorses censorship for ALL media, and really just waters down the real serious accusations.if you’re too young, not mature enough, or simply lack the mental capacity to understand these, maybe you shouldn’t be present in any online fandom spaces at all.i don’t actively create or consume problematic content, but i stand by my belief that people should let other people do whatever they want to do in the realm of fiction.ADD: i believe fandom do not treat writers/artists well and i will always support all creatives' rights more than audience entitlement. they do not deserve to be harassed or demanded for anything. unless the creative is extremely problematic, and not just merely unable to meet the audience's subjective expectations.note: apologies for using the words “consume” and “content” when talking about art and media. i have no other words to describe them at the moment.
